Building, Gardening & Farmers' Market

European Solidarity Corps Volunteer · European Union · 2024 – 2025

  • • Certified gardening volunteer — two weeks, August 2025. Conservation and grounds maintenance in a legally protected nature reserve: mowing, pruning, sawing, wood-chopping, and deadwood clearance in the historic 19th-century Spa Park of Głuchołazy, located within the Landscape Park "Opava Mountains" and a designated Nature 2000 zone. Hosted by Fundacja Benevolens, which has managed the park for over a decade.
  • • Certified construction volunteer — one month, August 2024. Natural building and site development in Staro Stefanovo, an architectural and nature reserve in the Pre-Balkan foothills of Bulgaria (625m a.s.l.), a village of fewer than 30 inhabitants with Ottoman-era vernacular architecture. Work contributed to the Green Place project of Green Association: construction of a geo-dome, solar showers, dry toilets, a summer kitchen, and other ecological structures on a 100-year-old property being repurposed as a community eco-space.

Agriculture & Local Food

  • • Collaborated with Quinta do Arneiro (Azueira), a Sativa Bio-PT-03 certified organic farm, at their Saturday markets in Jardim do Príncipe Real, Parque das Nações, and Cascais — loading produce, managing the stall, and direct sales to the public across some of Lisbon's most frequented outdoor markets.
